Beaver Creek is now open for the season, and skiers everywhere are adding that event to their list of reasons to give thanks today. With over 3 feet of snow last week, 6 feet of snow so far in November, and optimal conditions for our advanced snowmaking system, we’re ready to bring out the chocolate chip cookies and kickoff our 34th winter season (I include the winning recipe for our 11th Annual World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition below, so keep reading)
Want yet another reason to give thanks today? Be sure to read our White Friday announcement tomorrow (‘white’ because we like snow) where we’ll be offering you an opportunity to book lodging for your Beaver Creek ski vacation at significant savings. You won’t want to miss it.
Not only do we welcome great conditions and another season – Beaver Creek also unveils its new state-of-the-art combination lift! The new Centennial Express lift offers guests the luxury of traveling in a ten-person gondola cabin or a six-person chair. At over a mile long this is the longest combination lift ever built by Doppelmayr! Have you ever been curious about how ski lifts are constructed/tested? Here’s a super-cool video (3:44) that gives you a behind the scenes look at the process:
Here’s another video (1:10) showing all the freshies over the last week:

Cookie Time is Beaver Creek’s signature guest service program that takes place daily at 3 p.m. with Cookie Time chefs in chef whites serving warm, fresh, chocolate chip cookies on silver trays to skiers and snowboarders.
The Cookie Time tradition started in 1985 and evolved into the cookie competition in 2004 providing opening day guests with a village celebration.
More than 500,000 cookies are served annually and the new Beaver Creek Cookie & Crepe Company, located by Beaver Creek Lodge, now allows guests to purchase their favorite Beaver Creek cookies to take home.
It just keeps getting better and better.
